Extended Abstract Introduction This study examines the influence of Agricultural education and training of Farmers for food security. Agricultural education and training of farmers are critical components of food security that helps improve agricultural productivity, sustainability and resilience. Concerns about insufficient food access have resulted in a greater policy focus on incomes, expenditure, markets and prices in achieving food security objectives.Education and training play a pivotal role in improving agricultural practices, offering a profound impact on both individual farmers and the broader agricultural sector. These programs serve as a crucial conduit for the transfer of essential knowledge and skills, equipping farmers with the latest advancements and sustainable practices in agriculture. Materials and Method The population of the study comprised of farmers who are into livestock rearing, poultry, fisheries and crop production. Convenient and Snowball sampling methods was use to select 80 farmers. Eighty (80) questionnaire were produced and all were duly filled and returned. Descriptive statics and inferential statistics wereuse to analyze the data. Results and Findings The findings of the study show that by providing farmers with the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to adopt best practices, agricultural education and training can contribute to improved food security and rural development. A well-educated and trained workforce can help reduce reliance on external food sources by increasing domestic production, strengthening food security within a country. Training helps farmers understand and implement sustainable farming techniques, such as crop diversification, water conservation, and organic farming, ensuring long-term food security and environmental sustainability. Conclusion The Study concluded that Agricultural education and training are crucial for food security because they empower farmers with knowledge and skills to enhance productivity, adopt sustainable practices, and increase their income, ultimately contributing to a more secure food supply. Agricultural education and Training drive agricultural innovation by conducting cutting-edge research, developing sustainable practices, and introducing new technologies that enhance productivity and environmental sustainability. It was recommended that government should focus more on education and training of farmers at the grassroots level, this in turn yield to increase of food production.
