Music an Innovative tool for food security (An Analytical study of Fela Anikiulapo and Ebenezer Obey Tracks).

[email protected] Introduction In every nation, the access of sufficient, nutritious and availability of food that meets their dietary needs is inexplicable; the economic, social and physical access to food is mandatory. Mainly, food security has been a major challenge in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa, Gibson 2012 asserted that for over forty years, the malnourished people around the world hovered over 800 million to 1.2 billion, which Africa's numbers constituting the majority. A starving nation is prone to attacks by other communities and many leaders have been trying to solve the issues on food security, scholars have argued that the wealth of the nation is in the proactiveness of individuals to engage in small, medium and commercial agriculture, which as been debated over decades. On the other hand, music is widely accepted for its informative, educative and inspirative character Omojola 2005) noted the contextual framework of music been performed in terms of social themes and interpretation to this end the aim of this study tends to analyse the track of Fela Anikulapo and Ebenezer Obey that gave a lasting innovative solution to the devastating situation of food security which as not attracted the mind of some musicologist. Before independence and western education, the Africans have their oral tradition for imparting knowledge The oral history is passed from one generation to another by the eldest citizen in the society, which is done by tales, folklore and folktales. Traditional music as established the essence of innovation through songs and tales for Agriculture, societal values and myth. The communalism in African society trains the mind of the individual from cradle to grave.
